Barton County Scholarships

 

Barton County Scholarships- Part of Local Scholarship Program, but a student can receive as many as are awarded

The following scholarships are due to the GBHS Guidance Office by March 2, 2018:

Anol W. Beahm (First United Methodist Church) KU, medical field, 3 recommendations, Christian beliefs, 3.0 GPA and shows discipline & perseverance
Barton County Association of Churches Member of Central Baptist, First Southern Baptist, First Christian Church, First Church of God, United Church of Christ, First United Methodist Church, First United Presbyterian, King Memorial United Methodist Church, St. John's Episcopal, St. Mark's Lutheran, Trinity United Methodist, or Trinity Lutheran
Barton County Sheriff's Reserves Scholarship Career in law enforcement, nursing, fire or EMS; attend ANY Kansas College
Charley Byers Scholarship (get application at First United Methodist Church) Member of First United Methodist Church
Clifford & Pauline Getz (First United Methodist Church) Nursing or health related field
Dale Perry Pheasants Forever Scholarship 3.0 senior GPA, 2 or 4-year Kansas college.  Interest in wildlife or agriculture degree
Prince of Peace Alter Society

Member of Prince of Peace Parish

Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #23

Preference will be given to students that are interested in a Law Enforcement career (Police, Sheriff, Corrections, Jail, Probation, Parole, Court Services, Juvenile Services, etc.)

Great Bend Firefighters Social and Charity Scholarship Scholastic ability, leadership; citizenship; preference given to those seeking a career in fire, EMS, Law Enforcement, or Emergency Dispatching
Henry & Jennie Fanshier (First United Methodist Church) 3.0 GPA, full-time student
H.H. & Jennie Kopke Memorial (First United Methodist Church) Barton or Comanche counties; Financial Need
John Hiss Memorial Scholarship (GB Co-op) BCC; financial need; renewable
John & Charlotte Henry (First United Methodist Church) Financial need, 3 recommendations, any college
Richard C. Brining (First United Methodist Church) Graduate of a Barton County High School, Education major, financial need
Stone-Reinhardt Memorial (First United Methodist Church)

3 letters, Essay

 

 

The following scholarships have later due dates and can be sent directly to the committees or turned into the GBHS Guidance Office by March 2, 2018:

American Petroleum Institute (API)

Top 50%, parents or guardian employed by oil industry, renewable (6 Scholarships Available). Application deadline of March 31, 2018.

Students in Barton, Pawnee and Stafford counties interested in the Central Kansas Catbacker scholarships must attend KSU in the Fall of 2018, maintain a 3.0 or better high school G.P.A and must complete the scholarship application prior to the filing deadline of XX, 2018.

Fuqua Engineering (KSU) Scholarship

Attend KSU any school; Major in Engineering; 3.0 GPA; Application Deadline of April 1, 2018. April 15, 2018.

Barton County Farm Bureau

Parent or legal guardians are Barton County Farm Bureau members, 2.5 GPA or higher, must take a minimum of 12 hours per semester. Application deadline of April 6, 2018.

goldenbeltcfscholarships - Golden Belt Community Foundation scholarships have various due dates, however, most are due March 1st, 2018 at 5:00 pm (CST).

Bill J. McKown Memorial Scholarship Fund - Art BCC, Art Major, Financial Need
Bill J. McKown Memorial Scholarship Fund - Scouting  BCC, Financial Need, Scouts
Carla M. Yahne Scholarship Fund Female, 3.5 GPA
Cinco de Mayo Barton County Scholarship Hispanic Heritage; financial need; preference to those involved with Great Bend or Barton County Cinco de Mayo
Ethel D. Holmes Scholarship Fund Financial need, outstanding citizenship and character, attend a Kansas college, at least a 2.0 GPA.
Frank W. Brinkman Memorial Scholarship Fund Financial need, must attend a 4-year college, Top 30% of class.
Kansas State University Scholarship Fund 3.0 GPA; attend Kansas State University.
Mingenback Family Memorial Scholarship 3.0 GPA; major in health/medical related field
Paul J. Urban Scholarship Financial need
Ralph and Elinor Haneke Memorial Scholarship Fund  Single parent, financial need, average grades
Ray Cheely Business, Accounting; Financial Need, attend any Kansas college
Ryan Hugh Dunlap Memorial Scholarship Major in business, education or sports medicine, attend any Kansas college, 3.0 GPA
Ryan Joseph Bealer Memorial Scholarship Male, major in engineering; top 10% of class; ACT score of 23 or higher; community involvement
Vida M., Dorothy C., and Vivian M. Archer Scholarship 3.0 GPA; financial need
