Welcome to Riley Elementary – The School That Reads!
Already, we are gearing up for the beginning of a new school year. The 2010-2011 school year promises to be exciting and full of new learning and growing opportunities!
Riley students will continue to participate in Success For All reading, math, and writing classes, where they will learn just as much about cooperation and teamwork as they will in reading, math, and writing. Students will work in their homeroom classes during FOCUS to further prepare for the Kansas State Assessments starting in February. Students will work with their teachers and families to set achievement goals, and work with their teams to help one another reach their goals.
Students will also have opportunities to enrich their learning by participating in other programs offered at Riley. Some students and their parents will participate in the Riley After School program geared to help students reach their achievement goals. New this year, an After School Parent program will begin to allow parents the opportunity to see their students in action and learn new ways to assist them with their academic goals. All students will participate in social studies, science, art, music, and physical education programs and appreciate the beauty of the world around them.
At Riley, the entire school community – teachers, administrators, support staff, volunteers, students, parents, families – believe that students can meet any goal they set for themselves. In 2009-2010, the Riley family will continue to believe in its students and watch them go beyond our expectations!
