The team played really well today. We had some exceptional wins that will help our seeding at regionals. Morgan Francis beat the number 1 singles player from Salina Central. Stephanie Langer beat the number 1 singles player from Dodge City. Jami and Brianna beat both Salina South doubles teams. I was very proud of the way everyone played.

The team played very well at times and exceeded expectations. Stephanie has a great win and upset against Salina South. Our doubles team likewise had a great win against Newton. KaleeManeth did a good job for us moving up from junior varsity.

#1 doubles- Jami McVay& Brianna Schartz (2-2) tied for 2nd with Garden City and awarded third based on head to head competition

#2 doubles- Becca Brining &Kinzie Sinclair (2-2) tied for 2nd with Garden City and Dodge City so all three teams earned 2nd place

Both doubles teams had rocky starts but bounced back to finish strong.
Both singles players played well all day.
The team showed a lot of character by staying strong and winning two tiebreakers in the last round of the day that enabled the team to take 2nd place over Dodge City.
The girls tennis team took second place at the WAC meet on Monday.
This Saturday the team will play at the 5A regional tournament at Salina Central.
The regional entries and records are: singles- Morgan Francis (21-6), Stephanie Langer (19-14); doubles- Jami McVay& Brianna Schartz (22-11), Becca Brining &Kinzie Sinclair (14-12).

The girls played fantastic. We were one team that really played up to our potential. Morgan gave the defending regional champion and this year's regional champion a really close match.
Our doubles team upset both the 3rd and 2nd seeded teams to finish second. Our team was within two points of the regional champs in the team competition.
10/14/11 State
The girls tennis team finished the season on a strong note. Sophomores, Jami McVay and Brianna Schartz, finished 2nd in doubles at the 5A regional tennis tournament at Salina Central. Freshman Morgan Francis finished in 4th place in singles. All three girls competed in the 5A state tournament at Goddard High School.
