QUALIFIED ADMISSIONS
To a Regents University
(KU, K-State, Wichita State, FHSU, Emporia, or Pittsburg)

STATE OF KANSAS SCHOLAR/BOARD OF REGENTS CERTIFICATION

24 credits needed for diploma Guaranteed admission if you
meet ONE of the following
options:
1. ACT score of 21 or higher,
2. Top 1/3 class ranking, OR
3. Complete the following
with a 2.0 GPA:
To qualify for a 4-year scholarship you must complete the following:

12 required credits:
*4 units of English

*2 units of math

(any 2 math courses)

*2 units of science

(Must include Biology I)

*3 units of social studies

   Geography or
   World History
   U.S. History
   U.S. Government

*1 unit of Physical Ed

 

An additional 12 electives are required. Students must enroll in a full schedule each year.

Required curriculum:
*4 units of English
(You must take 4 units of English I-IV)

*3 units of math

(3 years must be during high school)
   Algebra I
   Geometry
   Algebra II or courses beyond

*3 units of science

   Biology I, II, III
   Physical Science/Earth Science
   Anatomy and Phys. I and II
**one unit must be chemistry or physics

*3 units of social studies

   Geography or World History
   U. S. History
   U.S. Government

1 unit of computer technology
(or pass FHSU Proficiency Exam)

*No foreign language required.

Required curriculum:
*4 units of English (English I - IV)

*4 units of math

   Algebra I
   Geometry
   Algebra II
(one unit beyond Algebra II)

*3 units of science

   Biology I
   Chemistry
   Physics

*3 units of social studies

   Geography or
   World History
   U.S. History
   U.S. Government

*1 unit of computer technology

(or pass FHSU proficiency exam)

*2 units of one foreign language
 
  Students may transfer from
another college (junior college
or private college) with a 2.0
GPA or higher and 24 credit
hours if they do not meet QA
requirements.
Scholarships are awarded
based on the following:
1. GPA
2. ACT Score
3. FAFSA index rating based on need.

Graduation requirements will increase beginning with the freshman class of 2005-2006. 

These requirements will consist of:

  • Four (4) units of English, English I-IV
  • Three (3) units of math, Algebra I and higher
  • Three (3) units of science, must include Biology I
  • Three (3) units of social science
  • One (1) unit of physical education
  • One (1) unit of fine arts
  • Nine (9) electives
